Syntegrity Consulting is designing the foot over bridge (FOB) at Sakinaka Junction, Mumbai, which connects the busy junction with Sakinaka station on Metro Line 1 (Versova–Andheri–Ghatkopar), together with improvements to the junction for pedestrian walkability, for Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

What Syntegrity did
- FOB design: alignment, spans, levels, piers, foundations and staircases of a multi-arm foot over bridge across one of Mumbai’s most crowded junctions.
- Metro connection: linking the FOB deck with the Sakinaka station of Mumbai Metro Line 1, so that metro passengers can reach every corner of the junction without crossing at road level.
- Junction walkability: improving the junction for pedestrians: footpaths, crossings and landing areas planned around the staircases, so people can move through the junction safely.
About the project
Sakinaka Junction, where Andheri–Kurla Road meets Saki Vihar Road, is one of the busiest road junctions in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai, with heavy traffic below and the Metro Line 1 viaduct above. The FOB gives pedestrians a continuous, grade-separated route across the junction, with staircases landing on the Andheri side, at Neelkanth Udyog Bhavan, on Saki Vihar Road, at Trade Corner and at Sagar Heights, and a direct connection to the metro station. Its alignment was registered against the topographic survey and the existing metro piers so that the FOB clears the metro structure, the road and the services below.
