As part of the development of Mumbai Metro Line 2, a key infrastructure component was the establishment of the Rolling Stock and Signalling Shed at Charkop Depot. Syntegrity Consulting was entrusted with the detailed structural design engineering of the Rolling Stock and Signalling Shed, providing end-to-end technical support to meet stringent metro standards and safety norms. The scope of work included:

1. Structural Design and Detailing
   • Preparation of structural design for the main shed structure including heavy-duty steel and RCC elements, gantries, inspection bays, crane girders, and equipment platforms.
   • Consideration of dynamic loading from rolling stock operations, crane movements, and maintenance activities.
2. Design of Foundations and Substructures
   • Design of foundations and plinths for heavy machinery, signalling equipment, rails, and maintenance facilities.
   • Site-specific geotechnical considerations were incorporated for long-term stability and performance.
3. Service Integration Coordination
   • Structural interface design with signalling systems, power supply equipment, and service ducts to enable uninterrupted depot operations.
4. Preparation of Structural Models and Analysis Reports
   • Creation of robust structural models using STAAD, ETABS, and other design tools to simulate load conditions and optimize material use.
   • Submission of detailed design calculations and safety compliance reports as per Metro Rail design guidelines.
5. Drawing and Documentation Support
   • Delivery of comprehensive construction-ready drawings, general arrangement drawings (GADs), and design documentation for contractor and client review.
